Sydney touched me in ways I didn’t expect 悉尼给了我意想不到的触动

I used to believe life in America was the dream. The best stages, the biggest opportunities—that’s where you go if you want to “make it.” But then I came to Sydney, and something shifted.
我曾经以为，美国的生活才是梦想。最大的舞台、最多的机会——如果你想“成功”，那就是你该去的地方。可当我来到悉尼，一切都变了。

Here, the city feels alive in a way that caught me off guard. You walk down the street and it’s like hearing the whole of Asia in one afternoon—Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Thai. And mixed in are so many Europeans who moved here, chasing not just money but a better, calmer life. It made me think: maybe “the dream” isn’t tied to one country. Maybe it’s about where you feel most at home.
这里的城市充满了生命力，出乎我的意料。走在街头，就像把整个亚洲都听了一遍——中文、印地语、越南语、韩语、日语、泰语……到处都有。而且还有许多欧洲人搬来这里，不只是为了钱，而是为了更好、更平静的生活。那一刻我突然意识到：也许所谓的“梦想”，并不属于某一个国家，而在于你在哪里能找到归属感。

Comedy here has its own heartbeat. In the US, it’s the late-night clubs. In the UK, it’s the centuries-old circuits. But in Australia, it’s festivals. And Sydney Fringe felt like a celebration of voices—different, colorful, messy, and real. I could feel the scene shifting: less UK polish, more American rawness, but still completely its own.
这里的喜剧也有自己的脉搏。在美国，是深夜的俱乐部；在英国，是延续了几个世纪的巡演体系；而在澳大利亚，是一个个喜剧节。悉尼艺穗节就像是一场声音的狂欢——不同的、多彩的、混乱却真实的。我能感受到这里的喜剧正在转变：少了些英国的传统，多了些美国的直接，但依然有着自己独特的灵魂。

When I stood on stage with Too Funny for Beijing, it wasn’t just a show. It was me realizing I could belong here too. That laughter doesn’t just cross borders—it builds a new home wherever people are willing to listen.
当我站在舞台上演出《Too Funny for Beijing》时，那不仅仅是一场演出。那一刻让我明白，我也可以在这里找到归属。笑声不仅能跨越国界，它还能在每一个愿意倾听的地方，搭建出新的家园。
